Urban Canvas - St. Bedes Primary School, Widnes

This morning the year 6's from St. Bedes Primary School Widnes, had a taste of pavement art with Urban Canvas. The children spent the morning using pastels to draw their self portrait & familiarise themselves with using chalks and pastels (including myself & Jen Kenworthy). After a short break the children all gatherd round outside in the playground, where they spent 40 minutes creating a gigantic spiral in preparation for the big event on Thursday at Widnes Market.

On Thursday the year 5's from St. Gerards and the year 6's from St. Bedes will be joining Urban Canvas in creating the 3D street art piece at Widnes Market. The piece will be symbolic of the chemical industry, representing hope for the future in a bright colourful way. I'm sure the children (and the adults) will have a wonderful time creating a piece of memorable history for Widnes.

Here are a few photos from this morning at St. Bedes Primary School;
